• Getting to Keukenhof

From Tweed@3:633/10 to All on Thursday, January 22, 2026 17:19:03
    A note for Roland.

Following him mentioning Keukenhof I?ve booked a trip for ourselves. It
seems that the easiest public transport option is to get the train to
Leiden. From there a special bus runs every 15 minutes.

I?ve booked E* to Rotterdam and then NS train to Leiden. Used a 4 day
Interrail global pass as the cheapest option, as that also includes UK
train to from StP. Lots of hotels in Leiden.

Leiden is lovely. Far better than Amsterdam IMO, unless you want the
large museums/galleries. There is a good museum there, and some nice
walks around the town and canals.Shopping is excellent too, with a good market,on Wednesday and Saturday.

In case this is of use to others.
If you buy your Interrrail ticket here

    https://allaboard.eu/interrail

You can get a 100% refund if you decide not to travel, provided you have
    not activated the pass.

    This site

    https://www.b-europe.com/EN/Booking/Pass#TravelWish

will let you discover if reduced rate Interrail reservations are available
on Eurostar before you buy the Interrail ticket.

Thanks. However E* is on the naughty step at the moment, after a very
bad day last summer and it's not been trouble-free since then either.

So we'll be taking the car on a ferry from Harwich. There's likely to be
three of us, which changes the finances slightly.
