• NCP car park bandits

From Roland Perry@3:633/10 to All on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 16:35:55
As it happens, I'll be parking at an NCP-run (and likely to be deserted) station car park on Sunday. Outrageously ?8.40 for the day.

But if I fail to pay, will they have the mindshare post-administration
to pursue me through the courts?

That?s not out of line with many station car parks for a whole day of
parking. The railway wants its pound of flesh. It?s not unique to NCP.

Be interesting to know what station it is ,At Salisbury Saturdays and
Sundays are œ5.30 compared to the weekdays at œ10.70 . A Weekend ticket
which can start Friday 00.01 till Tuesday 03.59 seems by modern pricing to
    be a reasonable œ15.90.
Bournemouth a bit cheaper Monday - Friday
Weekday Daily Rate: œ6.90 Saturday and Sunday œ3.40,
    Weekend Fri 00:01 - Tues 03:59 œ10.20

Southampton is cheaper than salisbury on the weekday at œ7.90
but has more expensive weekend rates at œ3.90 and the weekend ticket is
    œ11.90.

Much as many travellers don?t like the high charges for station parking on
top the fares the operators have to consider that if it is made to cheap compared to other nearby parking then non rail users might just use a
station car park instead of a local authority one.

Given that Sunday should be Super-off-peak, it's pretty expensive.

Makes me want to change my mind and drive all the way instead.

No. They are and will be as happy with non-payments as with payments.
