  • mark all as read request

    Any chance on an upcoming update that we could get a "mark all as read" feature that would mark all of the messages in the forums as though they've been read already?

    Do you mean your new message scan pointer? You can set those to latest using the &N command at the main default of the default/classic command shell. No "upcoming update" is needed for that as that feature has always been in Synchronet. Since at least 1991.

    You could always download a QWK packet, that resets your newscan
    pointers. There's a feature to set your newscan pointers in the QWK
    menu, you could always set the new scan pointers to 5 minutes ago.

    When I read this, I read "forums" and assumed he was referring to messaging via the web interface.

    While I could definitely be wrong in my assumption here, it does bring up the question if there is a similar method via the web, or does one have to login to the telnet BBS to set new message scan pointers for their web experience, as well?

    Honestly, I've never used the web interface for messaging, so it was just a wonder that popped up while reading this thread.
