Faraday's laws weren't enacted by the US Congress or the UK House of
Commons. Influencing somebody with the power to repeal them could be difficult.

The Vatican could have petitioned to have reality changed so that what
Galileo observed conformed to their preferences, but in practice they
just told him to shut up about what he had seen.

I recall a certain Australian politician trying something like that. It was

Representatives passed a law that said that the ratio of the diameter of
a circle to its circumference was in the ratio of 5/4 to 4, which would
make pi = 16/5 or 3.2. It didn't pass the Indiana Senate.

It makes better jokes if it's 3.0--all the train wheels turning
    hexagonal and so on. ;)

protect from Martians trying to steal cookies

I think he is concerned about russian ICBMs and undersea fiberoptic
    cables and ghost ships.

He is strutting of course, the first step in making a deal. He'll
probably settlle for a peninsula for a giant US military base.

you do know that for the last ~75 years Denmark and the US have had an agreement that the USA can basically have as many bases and personnel in Greenland as they want?

The US used to have three bases there, successive POTUS have reduced
bases and personal there. So now only Pituffik Space Base (Thule air
    base) is left

We's have less EMI if we just repealed Faraday's Laws.

I recall a certain Australian politician trying something like that. It was
a bid to make crypto software vendors put in back doors that only the >>>>> government could access. When someone explained that that violated the laws
of mathematics, Downunda?s pride said, ?The laws of Australia take
    precedence.?

Australia has produced some remarkably silly politicians, but nothing as >>>> silly as Donald Trump. Donald Trump's approach to global warming is
slightly more arrogant -if he can't understand the evidence it has to be >>>> a hoax.

    This is interesting:

    https://www.amazon.com/Maxwellians-Cornell-History-Science/dp/0801482348?s=books

Maxwell didn't author Maxwells Equations. In fact he had some stuff >>>>>> wrong.

    Different notation, iirc.

John Larkin wouldn't know what that might mean.

Some guys came along later and cleaned things up.

It might have looked that way to John.

Stop generating childish insults and read the book.

Why bother? The personal relationships between the people who got the
math into more accessible forms aren't all that interesting.

But you are all about personal relationships, specifically nasty ones.

You keep on flattering yourself that I see you as a person, rahter than
a depressing example of a tye.

Design some electronics. Build it. You'll feel better.

You can build electronics - of a sort. If you understood what design was
about you might be able to design some yourself, rather than fiddling
about until you find something that works. That might make you feel
better. My own experience of the process was complicated by the fact
that I mostly had to spend a lot of time explaining why the approach I
    was suggesting would work.

Faraday's laws weren't enacted by the US Congress or the UK House of

The Vatican could have petitioned to have reality changed so that what

There's been a US miliary base there since the 1950's

The Europeans should realize that it would be in their interest too.

The Europeans remember Munich, and the down side of indulging the
ambitions of a lunatic. Putin's approach the Ukraine was rather more
direct, but the motivation appears to be exactly the same.
