What are the odds Sinner and Alcaraz pull out due to injury, allowing
Djokovic to ascend to the all time record of 25 singles slam titles?
That means he hasn't won a set since the 3rd round and still claims the
    title.

    Divine intervention on steroids?

The haters would come out in force but it's still a legit win in my eyes
as he's clearly been the 3rd best slam player for last few years.
Keeping fit and sustaining injuries are part of the game.

    Slim odds.
Maybe Zverev would deserve it more?

Where does all this "deserve" stuff come from?

I thought he was done after that lousy service game at 4-5 in the third set to lose it, going 2-1 sets down.

I felt he was redlining for sets 2 and 3, and to be merely 1-1 in those sets, I felt it was over.

There are no words. People will look back on this match in 50 years
when discussing goats. He's 1 of a kind.

I gave him maybe 5% chance. Now I have to consider he may beat Alcaraz
too and claim the stand alone 25th slam. It would be a great way to
retire if he pulls it off. Somehow I think he'll just keep going until
he really believes he can't win a slam.

But if I were him I think I would retire if I won. Everything went his
way this slam - 3 straight set wins to start (no long draining matches), Mensik withdraws, Musetti gets freak injury leading 2-0. This win over
Sinner is incredible. No excuses for Sinner he was simply outplayed.
Probably doesn't happen if he didn't get those earlier breaks, but that doesn't matter it's part of the game and keeping fit etc. Alcaraz
appears to be worn out after that semi so not likely to be at his
explosive best. Only problem is Novak should be a a little worn out
after this match, so depends how he recovers. He may be fine as it was
only 1 draining match all tournament. All the stars seem to be aligning
for him to go out with a bang, worthy of the goat.

If he plays on after winning he's very unlikely to get all these breaks
again, so should seriously consider retiring.

So you feel going out like Sampras is of utmost importance?

I just feel he hasn't made a slam final since Wimbledon 2024, 2.5 years
ago. He got thrashed 62 62 76. He hasn't won a slam since 2023. Would
he have made final here if Mensik and Musetti didn't withdraw?
Reasonable chance he would have lost to either of them. If he's only
playing to win slams then I can't see him ever getting a better chance
than this. I'm personally happy to see him play til 45 if he wants.
He's only plying to win slams, I can't see it getting easier - he's 40
    next year.

What was the temperature like during the match?

Djok handles heat pretty well--better than Sinner.

    Just wondering.

Well Sinner won 2 out of 18 breakpoints.

Djokovic was impressive in that he was near death in set 3, having all
kinds of physical problems & very tired... and once it didn't work and
he lost the set then he made a miracle recovery and had no physical
problems whatsoever in last two sets.
