    Are they actually boring?

No! I really enjoyed the Masters. Extremely high level of tennis, shot
    after shot.

I think many of the posters, as they have aged, have lost that male competitive urge to poke at, and kinda jostle, each other, like drinking
    in a cheap bar.

    I know I have...

Their rivalry is now at its most interesting, no? Exactly what guy on tennis channel said.

    It's absolutely terrific.

I, for one, felt that Skinner would be unable to beat Alcaraz
consistently in the big matches. Alcaraz just had too much natural game.

But now we see that Sinner may possibly have, by sheer will, pushed his
game upward to match, and exceed, Alcaraz.

During the masters final win, I saw what I thought was the first serious self-doubt show on Alcaraz's face and body language late in the 2nd set.
It was as if he realized that he could not, on that day, pull enough skill-shots out of the bag to beat Sinner.

I think the single aspect that pushed Sinner past Alcaraz at this point
is that Sinner improved his serve in the 2nd half of the current year.

Once they play play enough matches it will look more familiar and less inspiring and the unknown factor will be lost.

Yes, later, and as you say, right now I'm waiting eagerly to see how--or if--Alcaraz comes up with a consistent answer.

We are seeing true greatness out of both players at this time. It can't
    last forever.

Sinner ban no matter how silly it was, and mild, in reality took away year end #1 from him. So it was a punishment in a way.

There are things lacking. The tennis itself is very good. BUT ...
    1) the hairdos are dreadful. A mini vogue? THAT is worth kulturkampfing.
    2) the goat chase isn't there. When it was, one contender was even
jailed in the final lap by Nadal fans. You can't top that. No goat
    chase means
    3) no gold carts for the fans to hop onto.

AND ... Becker says to Federer:

?You really put tennis on a different map. Whenever you started winning, people that had nothing to do with tennis liked tennis. It was because
of you,? Becker said. ?So you?re not only one of the best players in
tennis of all time, you?re the most important sportsman of all time.?

You have some outstanding thoughts here. Federer brought people into
tennis in a similar way McEnroe did.
