We have been getting weather alerts about the extreme cold and a lot of
snow headed our way. They have been talking about the storm of a

My biggest concern at this time is our concert tickets for Sunday and
wondering if we will be able to make it to the concert or if it will be
cancelled. It would be a different matter if I had bought the tickets
myself but this was a Christmas gift from our son.

A lot of snow? I guess that's because it's coming up diagonally.
We're expecting a mere 4 inches. The cold is expected to persist,
though. Monday, I'll be snowblowing in 14 F weather. Well, it
ought to be light and fluffy.

I've been hoping the cold would push the snow down into Ohio, but
it doesn't look as if I'll get my wish.

We're expecting 9-13 inches of snow over the next day and a half, and
most of it will be heavy snow. Oh joy.

In the future, there won't be much need for generators of any kind - maybe. Most
people will have a large power storage/supply parked in their garage i.e., the family car. Some people will have 2 sources of power. If you're an American, who

I'll believe that when I see it!

I told my daughter to get some pineapple cakes at Costco because they sell them for the new year. She said there's three different kinds. I don't know a thing about who makes the best cakes and told her to buy 2 different boxes. Sometimes you just have to take chances in life.

A good friend of ours lived just west of Montreal and experienced the
massive ice storm about 15 years ago. It had affected an area north of
Lake Ontario and the St. Lawrence from west of Toronto up to Montreal.
It caused massive power outages. His outstanding memory was the sound of branches snapping and falling. He said it was a steady and ongoing noise.

I can imagine who much noise it made after an experience I had after an
ice storm here. I had walked across the lawn and across the street to
get the mail and my newspaper. We had a huge maple tree in the front
yard and I walked under it on the way over and on the way back. I had
just passed under it and was almost at the front door when there was the
loud snap of a large branch broke off and that caused a massive cascade
if ice and more broken branches. I was lucky it had not happened as few seconds earlier when I was under it.

    Generator time!

Cindy is the lucky one with a generator. I've looked into a
stand-by generator powered by my natural gas line, but the
/price./ It's the times such as this one that makes me
wish I had one *just in case.*

There are some decent solar generators that you could wire into
your breaker panel for key circuits.

    Look into Anker:

    https://www.ankersolix.com/products/c2000-gen2-400w-solar-panel?variant=53152183353674&ref=solar-generators-collection_learnmore

    $1,199

In the future, there won't be much need for generators of any
kind - maybe. Most people will have a large power storage/supply
parked in their garage i.e., the family car. Some people will
have 2 sources of power. If you're an American, who knows how
many big batteries will be parked in your place. The future looks
    bright
    - if we don't all die, anyway. The advent of solid state batteries
will make our current battery technology seem primitive. That's a
    good thing.

Kinda makes one wonder why Ford canceled their 'lectric F150...

The truckers wanted more range so Ford is sticking an on-board
generator to increase the range to 700 miles.

    Really??

    A Ford Volt?

    Hopefully, this product
will stick with the truck buyers.

It might just, then again Fisker...

My daughter rented a gas one on the
mainland - it's a wonderful, solid, comfortable, ride. It's the way
to go if you're going to be traveling around all day. We went here
but they was closed - rats!

What's going on in MN is that the thugs that are under the direction of
that rapist that you voted for are murdering American citizens.

    Deranged and stupid ramblings snipped.

Since you were kind enough to snip them, I don't know the full
extent of his deranged and stupid ramblings. But I agree with
    the sentence you quoted.

I recall the Great Pumpkin once said he
could gun down anyone on Main Street
in any USA city and get away with it.

Now, we'll find out if he can just ask
his thugs to do it. The story is certainly
not yet into the epilogue. He could throw
the whole ICE street gang under the bus,
but someone will sing instead of swing.
