I watched more Star Trek Continues. s1e06 is titled "Come Not Between
the Dragons" and continues with the classic Trek feel. A strange
creature breaches the hull and lands in a crew member's quarters. It
soon proves to be pursued by another such creature, and the Enterprise
crew begins experiencing attacks of rage. Gur perngherf nera'g angheny

s1e07, "Embracing the Winds," shows Spock being tapped as the new
captain of the Hood. They learn that the other major candidate may have
been passed over because she's a woman. Xvex fhqqrayl gheaf

This episode was released in September 2016, which means it was written
and filmed while Hillary Clinton was running for President. Make of that
    what you will.

I was limiting myself to two a day, but I broke that rule and went on to
watch s1e08, "Still Treads the Shadow." Remember that anomaly Kirk got
trapped in? It and the Defiant are back, and another copy of Kirk has
been there all this time. The premise is reminiscent of the ST:TNG where
Tom Riker turns up, but they went a different way. The Defiant's AI
turns out to be the main villain.

I wish this show had gone on longer, though it's easy to see why it
didn't. Some of the new characters are interesting. I like Dr. McKenna
and Lt. Smith. Kipleigh Brown, who plays Lt. Smith, also played Jane
    Taylor in Star Trek: Enterprise.

I couldn't sleep, so I also watched about half of "The First Toolkit |
Stone Age Tools That Shaped Humanity (10,000?3,000 BC)."

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gKj4YAddMnw&t=6805s

The interplay between fire mastery and toolmaking is a complex dance.
It's interesting to consider that Earth is the only planet on which fire exists. On a world without these particular conditions to allow for
fire, what if any technology would develop?

Sounds a little bit like "Day of the Dove."

    What did everyone else watch?

    I watched:

Song Sung Blue (Peacock) 2025 musical starring Hugh Jackman and Kate
Hudson as singers in Neil Diamond tribute band in the 80s and 90s. It's
based on a true story. I don't want to get too deep into spoilers, but overall it was a pretty good movie. It's classified as a musical
because of the Neil Diamond songs, but I would also call it a drama.

Terrifier 3 (Amazon Prime) I recently got around to watching the first 2 "Terrifier" movies, which are about a murderous clown in the first movie
who comes back as a supernatural murderous clown in the second movie.
At the time, part 3 wasn't available to stream. But with the trailer
for "Scary movie 6" heavily featuring a scene parodied from Terrifier 3,
I figured I'd check if 3 was available, and it was. I think Part 3
picked up where 2 ended, with Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) and
I guess what you would call an evil supernatural side kick, still on
Earth to gruesomely murder people. The brother and sister duo who
survived Art in the second movie are also back and just trying to move
on with their lives, but the psycho unkillable clown has other plans for
them. I "watched" this movie mostly with my eyes closed or turned away
from the screen because I really can't handle the type of sadistic, mutilation, gore, that these movies deliver. I can't believe I actually watched all 3 of them! Or um, listened to, all 3 of them. These are
*really* not my types of movies. But they well done in that old school "Trauma movie" gross out style. And that type of movie clearly has a
    fan base.

Why did you watch them, if it's such an unpleasant experience for you?

I am a horror fan and go to a lot of horror conventions. When the first Terrifier movie came out the lead actor and the writer/director would
often show up at the conventions. I didn't think much of it at the
time. But their panels would be packed with fans. Then 2 came out.
Then 3 got an advertised theatrical release. Around this time the lead
actors from 2 and 3 were popping up at cons I was attending. I figured
I should at least watch the movie and then decide if I wanted their
autographs or not, seeing as how I would have access to getting their autographs. That's why I watched the first 2, because the actors were
going to be at a con, and I could get their autographs. The actors by
the way were really, really nice.

So I got the 3 lead actors to sign a Terrifier 3 poster. A movie at the
time, I had not actually watched, but of the 3 movie posters I liked
that one the best. So there I am at the convention getting autographs
and these really nice actors are asking me what did I think about
Terrifier 3 and what happened to their and I'm deer in headlights,
explaining I haven't actually watched Terrifier 3. But it did pique my curiosity about what happens in Terrifier 3. And now with the Scary
Movie 6 upcoming release, I want to get the joke when they parody the movie.

    I completely understand. :-)

If I had time to watch movies, this is the kind of thing I would get to eventually. But I have literally no time for movies.

It looks like it's only on Prime Video (which I no longer get) or on
Tubi (with ads), but I don't want to watch this with ads.

Looks like I am out of luck until it eventually comes to something like Peacock, probably around Halloween...

    I think Part 3 picked
up where 2 ended, with Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) and I guess what you would call an evil supernatural side kick, still on Earth to gruesomely murder people.

If you are referring to the character I think you might be, I am super disappointed that they didn't bring Amelie McLain back from "Terrifier
2", as she and the lead (Lauren LaVera) were the only things I actually
    liked about "2".

But I seem to be in the minority, as I enjoyed the first film (mostly),
but I thought the second one was a real slog (it's definitely
    over-long...) and not super entertaining.

    [snip]

I will snip here, because at some point, I will subject myself to "3"
(which I am expecting to be more like "2" than the first film,
unfortunately) and I don't want to be spoiled.

A loose *circle* of mines, in a 3D universe? Yeah, that sounds dopey.
