Fox renewed Doc for Season 3, sets release date window
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Fox has renewed the
medical drama Doc for a third season scheduled for the
2026-27 broadcast cycle. The series stars Molly Parker and
airs on Tuesday nights on the network. The renewal follows
Fox also renewing its other Tuesday medical drama Best
Medicine, which airs before Doc.
For its upcoming season Fox has again ordered a traditional
22-episode run matching the length of the current season. The
series will therefore maintain the network's rare full-season
scripted order model during the 2026-27 television year. The
renewal continues Fox's investment in the show following
strong audience performance across multiple platforms.
"Doc has become a true breakout for Fox delivering our largest
scripted multiplatform audience of the season and building
remarkable momentum across Fox Hulu Netflix and internationally
- earning it another 22-episode order" said Fox Television
Network president Michael Thorn. He credited showrunners Hank
Steinberg and Barbie Kligman production partner Sony and Molly
Parker's performance.
The drama also features Omar Metwally Amirah Vann Jon Ecker
Anya Banerjee Patrick Walker Charlotte Fountain-Jardim and
Felicity Huffman. Sony Pictures Television Studios president
Katherine Pope said "We couldn't be more thrilled to be
continuing our partnership with Rob Wade Michael Thorn and
their amazing teams at Fox." She added that the milestone
reflects the show's storytelling and performances resonating
with audiences globally.
As of Jan. 27, Doc averages 7.3 million multiplatform viewers
this season, roughly three times the audience of its first
on-air broadcast, which drew 2.35 million viewers. The season's
first 11 episodes rank among Fox's top 20 multiplatform
telecasts after seven days of viewing, excluding live sports.
The series adapts an Italian format, and Fox Entertainment
produces it alongside Sony Pictures Television.
