Tinker Bell Is Getting a Live-Action Disney+ TV Show,
Creative Team Revealed

Tinker Bell is getting her own live-action Disney+ show.

The Tinker Bell character was originally created by J. M. Barrie
for the 1904 Peter Pan play, which Barrie then turned into a
novel, Peter and Wendy, in 1911. She then famously appeared in
the 1953 Peter Pan movie from Disney Animation, which led to her
becoming a widely recognized and unofficial mascot for Disney,
next to Mickey Mouse.

Who is involved with the live-action Tinker Bell Disney+ show?
Per Deadline, Disney has now announced a new live-action Disney+
show centered around Tinker Bell. The series, which will be
titled Tink, comes from Liz Heldens and Bridget Carpenter.

"A live-action feature named Tink was previously in development
in 2015 with Reese Witherspoon set to play the lead," the article
notes. "This project was retooled in 2021 after Gary Marsh, who
was President and Chief Creative Officer at Disney Branded
Television stepped down and set up his own Disney-backed banner."

Marsh now serves as an executive producer on Tink, while Heldens
and Carpenter are both writers and executive producers. Quinn
Haberman is also executive producing for Selfish Mermaid.

Plot details remain under wraps at this time. No casting has yet
been announced, and a release date has not been set.

Heldens and Carpenter, who are long-term friends, both worked on
the Friday Night Lights series. Heldens created the NBC medical
drama Mercy, which ran for one season, and currently serves as
the co-showrunner on ABC's Will Trent. She has also worked on
shows such as Boston Public, Bionic Woman, Deception, The Orville,
The Passage, The Dropout, and others.

Carpenter also worked on Bionic Woman, while she's additionally
been involved with shows Dead Like Me, Parenthood, 11.22.63, and
more.

In addition to Peter Pan, Tinker Bell has appeared in countless
Disney movies and TV shows over the years. She was recently played
by Yara Shahidi in the 2023 Peter Pan & Wendy movie.
