• What Did You Watch? 2026-03-08 (Sunday)

    I watched:

    WE ARE THE 80'S

    WE ARE THE 80'S

    WE ARE THE 80'S

    WE ARE THE 80'S

    CHARLIE'S ANGELS:
"Lady Killer". Playmate centerfolds are getting killed (they use
felines rather than bunnies in a desparate attempt at avoiding a
lawsuit from Hef). Jill poses as a centerfold. Kelly is a singer at the
key club. I was confused because this was not the only time they drew
    from this well.

    HART TO HART:
"Max in Love". Max has met a lovely woman who seems to enjoy his
company also -- but she's part of a theft ring that cleaned out the
    Harts.

    FANTASY ISLAND:
? "Trouble, My Lovely". Overlooked process server Stanley Scheckter
wants the action and excitement of being a private eye for a weekend

I hated this one because it starred Don Knotts. Predictibly, he played
barney Fife and bumbled around the entire show. I was really hoping
Roark's warning about his life being in danger would play out with his
death, but I was not that lucky. At the end, it turns out, Fife's case
was a fantasy mystery murder play someone else fantasized.

? "The Common Man". A perpetually browbeaten husband Fred Stouton wants
the respect of his wife, son and mother-in-law.

I liked this story better, but only because the other was so gawd
aweful. The fantasy was fullfilled by Roarke fucking things up so much
that Bernie chewed out Roark and his family.

    FAMILY GUY
"Viewer DMs". The Griffin family retells "The Lord of The Rings,"
explains how the Griffins' ancestors arrived in Quahog, and looks back
    at Quagmire's 1960s variety show.

I did like them acknowledging that viewers no long send mail but now
use DMs online. I didn't like the LotR spoof and the reverse Oregon
Trail was amusing (I wondered how long it would take to reference the
game) but enjoyed Quamire's variety show the best.

    FAMILY GUY
"Scent of a Woman". Brian discovers his nose can detect diseases and
smells that someone in the Griffin house has cancer.

Not a big fan of this, but it was nice to have another ep about Brian
and Meg. OK, I did chuckle at the Fieri douchbag bits (does he have
    something at Universal Studios?).

    What did you watch?

Someone else reviewed this same episode recently. So, which client got
to do the big reveal? Seems odd for two clients to be solving the same mystery, unless they also got together during the weekend.

I started to watch Stage Fright, the Hitchcock movie, but I got sleepy.
    I'll finish it today.

I don't think I've heard of "Stage Fright" before. But there are
probably plenty of Hitchcock flicks I've never heard of.

I've been making my way through John Carpenter movies since last month
and this weekend I wrapped up watching the last batch I plan to watch.
I won't list all of them, but I did once again do a "The Thing" double feature. The prequel movie is seriously underrated.
