Wow! I just finished watching the Landman Season 2 Finale and it was
GREAT! After seeing Tommy get fired in the last episode and knowing
there were going to be consequences for Cooper's involvement in beating
on his fiancee's attacker, I was ready for everyone's day to be really
REALLY bad. It certainly started that way but Tommy found his way
through it to come up with a strong ending to the season and a good
setup for Season 3. I won't say anything further for fear of spoiling it
for those who haven't seen it yet; suffice it to say I think you'll
enjoy this episode and anticipate Season 3 as eagerly as I am.

I just finished binge watching season 2 in a couple of days. I agree the finale was really good. Taylor Sheridan writes soap operas but damn does he write good ones. Hopefully Landman won't end up like Yellowstone did. Billy Bob Thornton is terrific and deserves an Emmy but they're already talking
about how Sheridan's shows don't win awards because they're seen as
right-wing by many.

Funny thing, I just finished re-watching the first three seasons of Veronica Mars. Who do I see in a small, supporting role as one of the Fitspatricks
but Taylor Sheridan.

You tell me. In all your years of ovserving, was there ever a prime time
Emmy acting award to the best performance? It's unlikely you agreed
except on the rarest of occasions. How many times were worthwhile
performances not even nominated? How many different characters did
Tatiana Maslany have to play to get nominated?

It's never been about national politics but that Emmy voters seem to
despise television gemerally and don't sample enough of the excellent
work to vote knowledgeably. If an actor in a series was nominated or won
in a previous season, laziness or complacency means another nomination.
And there's the practical of having no clue what season it is and if the episode recently seen was even aired in the eligibility period.

In my opinion, the long time reputation of the Emmys is that they don't
go to the most deserving and not being nominated is no disgrace.
