Dear rec.arts.sf.written,
cross posted to alt.usage.english,
A frequently mention that reading material, especially fiction, is lit- erally free online. So I'm going to list a few sites with free fiction,
and hope other readers of rec.arts.sf.written will add more; cross post-
ed to alt.usage.english because reading and fiction comes up there fre- quently.
1. The Baen Free Library. I think this is the first collection of
free and published books that I learned about. It seems to me
that the site is not working right now, and only the first twenty
offerings can be viewed, but decided to list it anyway since that's
hardly a permanent condition.
https://www.baen.com/allbooks/category/index/id/2012
2. Gutenberg. /The online library/ in my opinion, though mostly 19th
century and older in terms of fiction. A wonderful place to find
Arthur Conan Doyle, Dumas, and others.
https://www.gutenberg.org/
3. RoyalRoad. This is a site where /web authors/ post their stories,
so you'll have to read through a lot of slush to find the gems. I'm
linking the site now, and can link at least one author worth knowing
about if anyone asks. Please be aware of possible A.I. slop, so
read with caution.

Best wishes, and happy reading!
