Anyone planning on seeing this horse-girl anime? It looks fun and not
    too
    servicey.

Would be curious to hear how it stacks up - all's I know is that it's
based on a game in the broader "Princess Maker" tradition and I kinda
assume those are fan-service 'til I hear otherwise, but I've definitely
noticed other corners of the Internet getting really into it lately.

It is a great deal of fun, and offhand I don't recall any service (though
    I won't swear to that). There's a reason it's so popular.

You have to remember when watching it that every Horsegirl is based on an actual horse racing in Japan in the 70s and 80s. The personalities of the horsegirls are based on the personalities of the horses they represent.
The races won and lost by each horsegirl are the same races won and lost
    by the original horse.

Even more amazing, the recreations of races are accurate to the races run, even as far as the minor characters who finish, say, 8th. It's fun to pull
up a Youtube video of an old Japanese horserace and compare it to the race sequence in the anime.

The writers do a good job in hanging character arcs upon this scaffold,
too. Worth a watch, maybe worth falling down the 70s Japanese Horse
    Racing rabbithole.

I might try to catch a showing; I generally detest gacha games but it's
not like I'll have to start playing if I enjoy the anime. As far as
fanservice goes, I haven't seen anything related to the show or game
more risqu‚ than characters in swimsuits.
