• A flash of reason

In what we might call a "sharp of reason" on Trump's part, he indicated, thinking aloud: "We shouldn't even have to be there." In doing so, he was referring to the Strait of Hormuz.

Indeed. The US has little business there. Except, that is, protecting the petrodollar and depriving Iran of the opportunity to develop a nuclear bomb and prevent Iran from becoming the dominant party in the region.

But the world would have been better off if the US had chosen a different path during Trump's first term. Trump declared a nuclear deal concluded by Obama invalid at the time, and with that, the source of the current conflict was found.

Subsequently, last year, following the attack on Iran, Trump declared that Iran's nuclear program had been dismantled, and within six months, Iran has it back again?

If Iran has a completely destroyed nuclear program back on track so quickly, then the current exercise is very likely pointless as well.

In short, this should have been thought about a bit longer. Trump's constant lies mean he now has to do such idiotic things. Unfortunately, he himself no longer realizes how stupid and pathetic he is, and what is happening to him and the rest of the world as well. The US really needs to learn how to solve its problems with senile presidents by now, because this is starting to get incredibly annoying.
