They were at one point. But I think Canada has even more concentrated centers of power.

In the U.S., if you look at a voting map from a county level, the vast majority of the country is Conservative with only a few blue cities/states. So basically a small minority of the country is controlling all of it.

I think Canada is worse off there. Hence the Alberta vote.

look at NYS county by county votes... kings co. queens co. ny co... like 3 or 4 counties over rule everything, and with unusual voting percentages.. all near eachother and tiny co.. It smells bad

Here in Michigan, Lansing, Detroit, Grand Rapids, and Marquette basically decide for the whole state.

That's why I've proposed a Electorial-like process. Each county gets 1 vote. Within that county the popular vote decided. But that way 1 (or a few) very local area can't dictate for the state as a whole.

But Left would fight against that because they would be out of power.

True... I was shocked to find out that BC votes conservative there. There is 1 place that voted liberal and that was Vancouver, a large city in BC, the map was BLUE BLUE BLUE except Vancouver. (Red and Blue are switched in Canada)


I see the political contrasts all day long. At the end of the day there is a chance Alberta will gain their independence, maybe the other 3 may leave as well.

I'll vote for Independence because I can. If we get it so be it... If not I hope a message is sent to the other Provinces.
