Don't know but it's way more civilized without this Marxist.

The RichBot may have been upgraded and consequently imploded, given
the quality of programming work nowadays. Good riddance.

A RichBot upgrade from 25% human 75% AI to 100% AI has gone wrong,
I'd guess, and no-one can be stuffed to fix it. Rich was only a chair
to be sat in by the Rich du jour. Now the chair is gone.

Perhaps he has been defunded or cancelled, or perhaps he has had his internet privileges revoked.
Frankly, I am delighted he is no longer here.

Consider the likely demographic of Usenet and nz.general posters:
older, tech-savvy enough to find and participate in Usenet, happy to
continue what many consider an outdated form of debate, set in our
ways that we continue to post.

Given this, posting stops have few causes: we become so incapacitated
that we can no longer do what it takes to post, such as debilitating
    stroke or death.

We don't stop posting because we have lost interest or found other
outlets for our need for debate.

Annoying as he was, I defend his right to post anything he wants to on
here, however distasteful. Usenet may be remembered as the last
    bastion of freedom of expression.

Social media is owned by big tech corporates who have taken it upon
themselves to censor anything they disagree with, and it is mostly
that which goes against left wing narrative.

The demise of usenet is a great shame.

    Bill.
