    Updates, on my Pi5, can't access deb.debian.org:

    Err:2 http://deb.debian.org/debian bookworm InRelease
    Temporary failure resolving 'deb.debian.org'
    Err:1 http://archive.raspberrypi.com/debian bookworm InRelease
    Temporary failure resolving 'archive.raspberrypi.com'
    Err:3 http://deb.debian.org/debian-security bookworm-security InRelease
    Temporary failure resolving 'deb.debian.org'
    Err:4 http://deb.debian.org/debian bookworm-updates InRelease
    Temporary failure resolving 'deb.debian.org'

My pure debian boxes have no trouble:

    root@sbox:~# ping5 deb.debian.org
    PING debian.map.fastlydns.net (151.101.194.132) 56(84) bytes of data.
    64 bytes from 151.101.194.132 (151.101.194.132): icmp_seq=1 ttl=53 time
    =17.9 ms
    64 bytes from 151.101.194.132 (151.101.194.132): icmp_seq=2 ttl=53 time
    =17.8 ms
    64 bytes from 151.101.194.132 (151.101.194.132): icmp_seq=3 ttl=53 time
    =18.0 ms
    64 bytes from 151.101.194.132 (151.101.194.132): icmp_seq=4 ttl=53 time
    =18.2 ms
    64 bytes from 151.101.194.132 (151.101.194.132): icmp_seq=5 ttl=53 time
    =17.9 ms

The problem seems to be that fastly has blocked my Pi5 from its DNS.

This started happening in the last few days. Anybody else seeing this? An ybody got a fix??

Note that you can resolve neither deb.debian.org nor
archive.raspberrypi.com so the issue is not solely a debian.org one nor
    a raspberrypi.com one.

?and you've shown that other machines can resolve debian.org.

The problem seems to be that fastly has blocked my Pi5 from its DNS.

It seems unlikely and also why would fastly be involved in your ability
    to resolve raspberrypi.com?

I suggest stepping back and seeing if your raspberry pi device can
actually resolve deb.debian.org and archive.raspberrypi.com? Use "host"
    or "dig":

    $ host deb.debian.org

    $ dig deb.debian.org

At the moment all indications suggest to me that DNS resolving is broken
on (only) your raspberry pi device.

    Thanks,
    Andy

Bingo, I think. The Pi isn't used for much, so it didn't get a very string
ent test. But when it did, significant DNS trouble showed up -- it connect
s with IPs around the apartment (listed in /etc/hosts), but nowhere else. Bears some attention.

    Thanks, Andy, for your suggestion...
