Other direction: Fastmail bought Pobox, which had been an
    independent service for decades.

That's what I meant: my service was formerly Pobox and is now Fastmail.
    So far nothing has changed.

Please set your mail client with text only and not html only. It will be
    easier to read :)

Bummer. I always send text only. But I was trying everything to get this
to work. I switched to html only then it worked!

Now I'm sending text only. Fingers crossed.

    edit:
That did not work. I cannot send plain text emails to lists.debian.org
using my titan mail account. I insist on sending text only. It's looking
like titan or debian-user has to go. I will switch away from titan...

For me it worked. All three times :-)
And they are in the archives, too, e.g.:
    https://lists.debian.org/debian-user/2026/02/msg00412.html
Perhaps there is a delay (or a filter) at your input side?
    Cheers

    Finally, success!

first I did some tests, it seems:
Most emails I tried to send to debian-user from my titan mail account
got blocked with a warning that I am sending spam. I completed the
    captcha and clicked force send.

No response. A couple hours later responses started showing up in the archives. But emails I sent to the list never came back to my inbox.

I tried sending one of my other email accounts an email like:
    subject: subscribe
    body: which nwe@mailtu.net

and titan blocked that, informing me I am sending spam!

    This confirmed:
it can't be debian-user list fault
I need to find a different email provider.
Here goes. It seems to work.

First I tried Fastmail but they refused to accept my phone number for
    account validation

next I tried to get an account with disroot, but they say they're closed
for the weekend, come back monday... monday is already past...

Finally I decided this warrants scratching a longstanding itch: hosting
my mail. So here I'm using my new toy, a 'free' email account that cost
me lots of headache to set up :)
