    Dual Boot with Windows 11.
installing Debian Mate on a HP Elitebook 845.
    6-core AMD Ryzen 5 Pro

    I booted with USB: debian-13.3.0-amd64-netinst.iso
...this was Odd = asking for firmware:

    ath11k/WCN6855/hw2.0/firmware-2.bin

I selected NO... it connected to wifi without complaint.
    ---
install completed, boots fine, wifi automatically connected.

    Question: is it "good" as-is?

this is my wife's laptop, it will be her first Linux experience so it
    needs to be "flawless"

Yes. There are some manufacturers where some of their chipsets
need firmware and others do not; you got lucky here.

The fact that the wifi works is its own proof.
