• Kernel drivers request for kernel release

From Mina Girgis@3:633/10 to All on Thursday, January 29, 2026 17:10:02
    Hello,
I have been daily driving Debian on my home PC and recently decided to also
use it on my work laptop for university. The laptop is an ASUS TUF F15,
which requires additional software to fully support all of its hardware features.
I have successfully compiled and used asusctl, and basic functionality
works as expected. However, some features depend on additional kernel
support, such as the ASUS Armoury-related drivers. From my understanding,
parts of this support are currently being upstreamed and may land in a
    future stable kernel release.
I wanted to ask about the current status of this work from Debian?s perspective, and whether there is anything recommended in the meantime
(such as backports, experimental kernels, or documentation I may have
    missed).
Thank you for your time, and for your work on Debian.
    Best regards,
    Mina

We are just users here, so you will probably want to contact the kernel
team instead, unless another reader here happens to own a similar/same
Asus machine and has first-hand knowledge of using Debian on it.

I don't, but if the drivers you need do end up getting upstreamed then
there is some hope for you as you should find newer kernbels in stable-backports and testing repositories, as well as the latest
upstream stable kernel release in experimental.

You probably want the debian-kernel mailing list:

    https://wiki.debian.org/Teams/DebianKernel

    Thanks,
    Andy
