    Perhaps https://www.debian.org/distrib/ will help you better state the
    problem you are trying to solve as:
    1. What is the problem?

    I do believe it will still attempt to setup the network and will ask you if you want to use a network mirror that?s for after setup. It may also ask if you want to use the network instead of the local packages on the DVD. So
    just read the install steps carefully.

    would I not use it? Other wise how would not use Plasma?

    During the installation you are shown a list of desktop environments to
    pick from. The ISOs are __not__ pre packed with specific desktops.

    You're very confused about something, and it's not really clear what
    that is.

    A Debian installation medium can install ANY Desktop Environment.
    All you have to do is select it in the final stages of the installation.
    By default, GNOME is selected, and you would have had to change options
    in the menu to get KDE/Plasma instead of GNOME.

    If you mean a LIVE image, and not an installer, then you need to
    specify that. I could do a web search for "Debian 11 live image GNOME"
    (or whatever Desktop you want on your LIVE image), or you could do
    it yourself. If that's actually what you want.

    Are you trying to INSTALL Debian on a fixed disk, or are you trying to
    download a LIVE image for use without installation?

    What Desktop Environment, IF ANY, do you want to use? Don't just
    say "not Plasma". Say what you DO want.

    Instead of floundering around, please tell us what your problem is. I
    gather it has something to do with Plasma, but that's hardly enough to
    suggest a solution.

    One possible solution might be to use a GTK based desktop such as XFCE
    or Gnome.

    a new thread, with a new subject that describes what you want to do.

    If you are having trouble using a disk image, make sure that you tell
    us what iso you are using, and the URL you got it from.
