Updated an IPhone 14 Pro, Apple Watch Series 10, 12.9 Inch IPad Pro, and an M1 MacBook Pro all with no issues. For me, everything is stable and working well.

As usual, there may be a *TEMPORARY* hit on the battery life and heat
as the new OS runs through initialising various things like indexing in
the background.

With iOS updates I tend to wait a few weeks to see what issues,
if any, manifest themselves...

Yep, always wait for at least the ".1" release and leave the "gamma
testing" to other guinea pigs. :-)

I test on VMs before committing.

I don't -- this is comp.sys.mac.system

I understand your hesitation, but all I can say is I installed the updates
on all my devices and all is good.

I don't -- this is comp.sys.mac.system
The original message was also cross-posted to misc.phone.mobile.iphone
Technically you could test iOS on a VM, but you'd need to find a
properly working iPhone emulator. There are a few around, but I don't
know how good or bad any of them are.

I cross-posted the original message because I upgraded both an iPad and a Mac. I didn’t mean to cause any confusion.

That´s why people like Paul and me test it for people like you :-)
Over here I updated an iPhone SE2, an iPad Air 2022 and a MacBook Air M2 to OS 26 and everything is working fine.

Your cross-post, here, caused me to download the upgrade to all my
Mac and iDevices. So far, so good. Thanks!
I like that iOS and MacOS now reflect the year they are meant to
service instead of arcane numbers. At least, that's what I think.
