• FREE GAMES: "Cozy Grove" and "WWI Isonzo Italian Front" [EPIC]

    From Spalls Hurgenson@3:633/10 to All on Thursday, March 12, 2026 11:08:04

    Alright, so what we got waitin' for us on the Epic Store. It's
    Thursday, right? That means free games. No peeking at the subject line
    for spoilers!

    * Cozy Grove
    https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/cozy-grove
    It's probably inaccurate to call this a "Stardew Valley" clone, even
    though (art style aside) that's what the game reminds me of at first.
    But there's enough similarities too; while the game's focus is more on
    short, easy quests and collecting things than farming and building, it
    also has crafting and building. It doesn't really matter to me though;
    none of it looks entertaining in my eyes. I'm just not a fan of these
    'cozy' games. Maybe if they release a blood and explosions mod?

    * Isonzo: WWI Italian Front
    https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/isonzo
    It's a team-based multiplayer FPS set in WWI; think "Verdun" or "Day
    of Defeat" (I know, wrong war, but same concept). Reviews are all over
    the place, but the fact that there are 14 paid DLC packs just for
    different unit types tells me all I want to know.

    That's all this week. I'm not particularly excited about either game,
    but I can imagine some people might find them appealing. Me, I'll just
    wait until next week. See you all again in seven days!

    Thanks for this one. I think I am the opposite of you where these
    types of games are concerned. :)
