• Gamestop: Why won't you just die already?

Meme-stock and failing US retailler Gamestop is in the news again.
Having failed to keep themselves relevent in every other way, now they
hope to survive by acquiring a 'publically traded company'.* Which one
hasn't been specified, but supposedly it's "gonna be really big".

Yeah, because they've done so well with the little business they have.
Just the sort of people we want in charge of a bigger company.

Nothing will come of it, of course. This is likely just another
attempt to pump up the flagging stock price of Gamestop. I mean, I
guess it's better than their current strategy of buying bitcoin.

But wouldn't it be nice if Gamestop finally just... disappeared? If
they took their overpriced used games, and FuncoPop collectibles and
NFTs and just vanished into the ether? There's so much awfulness in
the world... couldn't we have one less bit of terrible? Please?
