I just happened to see this at Epic, Not 1 but 2 games! It says both
free until the 8th, so looks like a free game next Sunday or Monday
instead of Thursday (though they will still be available this Thursday.)

    https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/total-war-three-kingdoms-d3bb7a

Steam says this is an RTS/Turn Based, I don't know how that works.
Looks set in ancient china. Only 66% current, but 84% overall (with an asterisk, so something's going on) Not my bag, but I picked it up.

    https://store.epicgames.com/en-US/p/wildgate-standard-edition-b886b5

"a PvPvE multiplayer shooter that blends tactical ship-to-ship combat
with fast-paced first-person action. 3 different modes. In Artifact
Brawl, be the first to snatch the Artifact and blast through the
Wildgate, or destroy the ships of every rival crew to be crowned the
winner. Fleet Battle pits two massive teams of up to 12 players each
against one another in relentless, action-packed combat. For a more
relaxed looting expedition, salvage treasure and escape with the spoils
before getting blown up in Treasure Hunt."

Looks WoW cartoony. I'm expecting it's an 'extraction' game like
Nightreign since that seems to be what PvPvE means, at least for
Treasure Hunt. Again not my bag, but picked up.

It's a standard Total War game, meaning the turned based part is on the campaign map where you move your armies around but the battles between
armies are fought in real-time on seperate local maps.

I could never get into these Total War type of games.

You're not the only one. It's a series I keep banging my head on.

There's stuff I like about it. The huge battles are neat (even though
the reason they once were so notable --the vast size of the armies and
the detail in each soldier's animations and design-- have largely been
equaled or surpassed by other games. When played well, the maneuvering
and tactics does feel a lot like something you'd have seen in real
life. Unfortunately, I always found the combat demanded too much micro management to actually be fun to play. To watch: awesome. Actually
getting into the nitty gritty, with the controls? A lot less
    enjoyable.

The game also featured a 4X-type strategy element, but --especially
for the first few games-- this was almost secondary to the game. It
wasn't /terrible/ to play... and in fact, its the 4X part of the Total
War games that entertained me the most. But compared to the other
big-name 4X titles, the Total War series was decidedly subpar. They
felt almost like an excuse: the 4X existed just so you could build up
your armies and throw them at your enemies in real-time battle.

And since I didn't much care for the real-time battles, and the 4X was
better done in other games... I mostly played other 4X games.

But I kept coming back to the Total War series, because it undeniably
has spectacle. Not fun, maybe, but wow those battles looked cool.
