There are serious things you can already do with RISC OS.
The bicycle tour report
https://ausserstorfer.4lima.de/Fahrrad/Lausitz2025.pdf (555 kB) from last
year was done here under RISC OS on an Elesars Titanium.
The pictures was taken by an analogous, twenty five year old camera and
written by the photo lab on CD. This was the only step I had problems
because the Titanium couldn't read the CD. I had to transfer it under
another system from CD to an USB-stick.
For both to read the USB-stick with the photos and also to read the tour records (GPX tracks) from the SD card taken by the Columbus P-1 logger I
used the module Fat32Fs.
For the evaluation and viewing of the tour records I used !RiscOSM.
To write down the tour report, I used !StrongEd.
To puplishing the tour report in the Usenet, I used !NewsHound, !Pluto, !SiteMatch and !FTPc.
To create the PDF, I used !TechWriter and !PrintPDF. Interesting: The PDF directly saved from !TechWriter had around 3 MB whereas !PrintPDF created
a PDF of only 555 kB.
To view the pictures, I used !SwiftJPEG and !ChangeFSI.
In former times, I sent datas from tour reports (and other text) I created under RISC OS to a company who printed and binded books.
RISC OS is like a sandpit with all its tools.
There are a lot of people who created the tools I used for the report.
Thank you all very much!
A.
