  • Iyonix replacement video card

    Hi,

    Just wondering if anyone here has replaced the Iyonix video card for one
    with HDMI output

    2 MX and FX5500 are mentioned here as working, and I think some other

    I don't believe there are any of that era (~2005) which have HDMI ports, but some have DVI and DVI to HDMI is just a passive cable. (ie HDMI monitors support DVI signals on the HDMI port as a backwards compatibility mode)

    What you won't get is audio, which is supported on HDMI but not DVI.

    Thanks Theo, not terribly worried about sound. I think somewhere I have a
    VGA to HDMI adaptor, but I was trying to avoid additional hardware
    external to the machine.
