The next meeting of the RISC OS User Group Of London will be:
Multi headed systems
Presented by Chris Hall
Monday 19th January 2026, 7:45pm
The Duke of Sussex
(upstairs in the Petworth Room from 6.30pm)
23 Baylis Road, London, SE1 7AY
https://rougol.jellybaby.net/venue.html
Also online via Zoom, meeting open from 7.30pm
https://rougol.jellybaby.net/meetings/
To kick off the year, Chris Hall will be Zooming in to show off his
multiple heads. He has been experimenting with an R-Comp Hydra system,
with two heads running RISC OS and a third with Linux.
He will be describing how well the new Hydra works, why he wanted multiple heads, how each head is configured, and how the system as a whole performs
in use. He will expand on his article in the latest Archive, with a
digression about RDP versus VNC for connecting between heads.
There should be time to look at some of his software - such as RingBind,
Cat, DrawDis and Locking, all of which make use of MakeDraw. He will demonstrate how to make subtle changes to Draw files that aren't possible
in Draw, by disassembling them using MultiTask and recreating them using MakeDraw after some subtle edits.
