  • Prophet version 4.15 now available and it's on the move

    Prophet, the business accounting and stock management package for RISC OS,
    has been updated to version 4.15 and is available now from Elesar.

    In this update it's going mobile: with the addition of space in the customer and supplier databases to store a mobile phone number, as well as the
    existing telephone/fax/email contacts.

    In detail
    ---------
    * The customer and supplier databases now have a field to store a
    mobile phone number.
    * This new field will be checked when using the 'Find' dialogue,
    can be listed to a printer, will be consulted when caller ID comes
    in if you have caller ID hardware, and can be auto dialled using
    a suitable modem or using DTMF tones on the system speaker.
    * Exporting the database as comma separated values with the 'Output
    all fields' option turned on will include the mobile number, and
    correspondingly can be imported as CSV too.
    * An extra check is now made that AcornURI is running, as opposed to merely
    loaded, when associating with HMRC for Making Tax Digital - this was
    preventing the browser from launching in some circumstances.
    * 3 other minor bug fixes and updates.

    Making Tax Digital
    ------------------
    Prophet is able to submit UK VAT returns using HMRC's MTD system. Prophet can either be used to bridge the gap from your existing spreadsheet/manual calculation or do all the accounting itself.

    If you're VAT registered in the UK then from April 2022 you must use the MTD
    as manual submission on paper or via the government gateway is no longer possible

    Add the MTD option for =A355+VAT (=A366.00 inc).

    Buying or upgrading

    If you have version 3.93 or later (from Elesar) simply re-run the installer program which will download the update free of charge.
