I assume that by "You can't install it", you mean that you can only boot it from the CD (that is, use it as a "live CD"). But can't you just make an
ISO from the CD (*) and then install that as a virtual CD under VMware or VirtualBox or whatever and then boot from that and have it be essentially
the same as booting from a hard disk?
(*) Or simply use the original .ISO file that you made the CD from in the
first place.
Also, the one thing I loved about Knoppix in the old days was when it
booted into KDE and that version of KDE has the best Sokoban game I've ever seen or played. I miss that game a lot. Do you know if the current
versions of KDE and/or Knoppix still have that wonderful game?
