The latest JD Power vehicle dependability study results have been
released in the US, and the results may surprise some people :)

Lexus holds onto the top place on the list, but Buick at number 2 only slightly behind is interesting. Mini, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Sujbaru and Porsche are all ahead of Toyota who lies in eighth place, just ahead of
Kia and Nissan who round out the top ten.
At the other end of the scale, the bottom ten in order are Ford, GMC,
Acura, Infiniti, Mercedez-Benz, Audi, Jeep, Land Rover, Volvo and Volkswagwen coming in dead last.
Tesla comes in with a score of 226, which places them just above Ford.

Makes me wonder if there is some sort of US bias, its been a long since
any US cars could be called high quality and from what I hear they are getting worse not better.

Yeah, I dunno. The survey results are supposed to be completely
impartial. Toyota at number 8 was a surprise as well.

Buick consistently ranks highly. That's absolutely not a surprise at all.

"what you hear" vs an actual *dependability* study.

I recently did a minor service on my mates 2024 Ram 1500, he couldn't
get it booked into a dealer for service in a reasonable time and the
service was already overdue.
So far its done 35,000km and its been trouble free and he's very happy
with it, as a tow vehicle its vastly better than the 79 Series LC it replaced, lots more power and the 10spd auto works very well, fuel
economy is about the same if he's gentle with his right foot.
BTW I was surprised how low it is, I had to jack it up just to reach the sump plug and filter, don't need to do that with a Hilux which has much
more ground clearance, he's thinking about getting a 2" lift because its
not good off road.

˙Be lucky to climb a gutter by the sound of it1. (Apparently 8.3"
standard clearance)...They are a poseurs car. 11.8' on TRX.. Bit better
but you`d need a mate with a Jeep to help you.!! :):):)
