Is there any way to increase the idle speed of a petrol engine? I
mean some assembly with cable and with an adjusting knob on the
dashboard.
Our petrol TCM forklift has an idle adjustment far too difficult to
access.

Have a look at older series landrovers. Also the Perenties since they
were military spec.

Some I have used you could wind them up to raise engine speed, reverse
to lower. Others had a twist to lock mechanism built into the head piece
- as is the linked unit. Some trucks had them when they had hydraulic
cranes (Hiabs) in order to remotely speed up the engine for faster crane >operation. Note, these cranes operated from a PTO mounted oil pump on
the gearbox which could be engaged/disengaged.
I suggest you have a chat with people in the Landrover club near you.
Also, you need to look at the linkage at the carb end, it will need a
slip link of some form so the cable in the off position doesn't restrict >normal throttle operation.
