Here in Melbourne, no cloud, new moon, no smoke as such... Should be
good. Its "probably" easily seen as far north as Brisbane. Well worth a
look if you have clear skies to the south of where ever you are.

I have good views to the north and west but not good to the south so
I've not managed to see any Aurora from here, sounds like I need to go
for a drive somewhere so I can see it.
    Thanks for the heads up.

The news said that it might be visible here in QLD - hmmm. Had a look
anyway, clear night, but not a good view to the south, and saw nada.

Fortunately we had a fair chunk of rain leading up to Summer which has replenished my water tanks. It'd been fairly dry for a while before that
    and my tanks were empty.

Empty water tanks on a sunbaked, windswept and desolate mesa? How

Your whole country is beautiful, let alone whats above it. I'll never
forget Milford Sound. Entrance shrouded in fog, ships fog horn going
off, and then thefog cleared as if by magic, and the mountains at the
entrance appeared. Snow (and lots of it) on the mountain peaks, in
summer! Wouldnt mind doing the plane ride as well. THAT would be awesome.
