• Does package XYZ exist in Debian NN

    From Richard Owlett@3:633/10 to All on Friday, October 17, 2025 06:06:18
    I know I've done package related searches that resulted in list of
    releases having that package.

    I've forgotten the relevant command ;{

    Help please.
    TIA

    You?re probably thinking of the madison command. From your local apt sources you can use: apt-cache madison XYZ or apt-cache policy XYZ. To check across
    all Debian releases (needs the devscripts package), run: rmadison XYZ or rmadison -s bookworm XYZ. If you?d rather use the web interface: https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=XYZ
    ? that shows which Debian
    releases include the package and its versions.
