• Disabling selected AI features in Windows 11

    Article with detailed instructions:
"This Free Script Disables Every AI Feature in Windows 11"
    https://lifehacker.com/tech/this-script-disables-all-the-ai-features-in-windows-11
Despite "Every" in the title, he script lets you pick and choose.

If you want to skip the article, here's the script and documentation: https://github.com/zoicware/RemoveWindowsAI
(requires PowerShell 5.1, not PowerShell 7)

Full disclosure: I have not yet tried this.

I'm using O&O ShutUp10++, so I guess that does the job as well.

Why would anyone prove their own stupidity by doing that?

AI is here to stay, and there's no going back to a primitive way of
life. Remember that there are still intelligent human beings living on
    this planet!

W11 is spyware by design. Whilst it is sometimes very helpful,
it also violates the hell out of your privacy, slows your
    computers down, and is intrusive.

I don't see how not clicking on stuff violates my privacy or slows
down my computer(s) or is intrusive, but for people with no self control
it probably is indeed a good thing to protect oneself against oneself.

    [More biased ranting deleted.]

I use it too. Seems to do the job nicely.

    Wish they would add
remove Edge and Webview one drive

But I have other utilities for that.

And I remove Chrome (also spyware) and substitute Brave Browser.

The FIRST thing I do after installing Windows is disable the "hide file extensions" setting that lies to you about file names (and is good for
    malware writers).
