• soft for an e-zine in asc

From Malvinas@VERT/TECHNOA to All on Friday, May 16, 2025 18:54:00
I'm thinking about publishing articles in the form of an electronic magazine, distributed in a .zip with a few text files with the articles.
Which software should I use? I would like it to be in ascii format and have some level of ascii art decor where the text would be inserted.

    Malvinas.

    I'd say nano, or vim.

    Hmmmm... Not really.

I'd use any console text editor, just for consol-ey goodness. With most windowed text editors, you run into issues with word wrapping - change
the size and you change where it wraps, which you don't want with a text editor.

There are a ton of editors for DOS, TSEPro for Windows, and Linux
distros all have nano, vi and joe available.

Sounds cool. When I published a similar venture, I used MS Office PowerPoint. It provided me the ability to change backgrounds, font, add pictures etc. You can then save the project as a PDF too.

I was thinking of doing the same as well. I want to make a monthly maagazine. Mine would npot be in ascii, it would be full on professional style with Serif Publisher.

Maybe a good text editor program might do the job.

I remember seeing stuff done with "The Draw" which was awesome. I never
used it myself, but it sounds like what you are looking for.

Let me know when you both finish a sample so I can check them out!

    Have a great day!

Which software should I use? I would like it to be in ascii format and have some level of ascii art decor where the text would be inserted.

Since you want to incorporate ANSI art, why not use an ANSI editor, like Icy Draw, Moebius, REXdraw, etc. The text formatting would have to done manually, but you'd have full freedom on where everything goes.
