Avanti, the operator of the west coast main line from London to Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool and Glasgow, will axe a slew of daily services
between December 7 and December 23, and from January 4 to 7.
There will also be a reduced timetable will also take place between
Christmas and new year due to engineering works.

The train operator said a demand-led timetable would not be applied to
services between the capital and Manchester because of the popularity of
the city?s Christmas markets.
