    I'm not especially familiar with the area, but it seems interesting the way they are coexisting with foot/cycle paths on the long-closed railway
    alignments that they're reusing.

    Washington DC closed down its tram service earlier in 2026.

    There was a single line that operated from 2016 to 2026.

    The city had real streetcars starting with horse drawn cars in 1862, electrified in the late 1800s and finally shut down in 1962 after
    extensive bustitution.

    My mother lived there in 1944-45. Due to petrol rationing everyone
    took them rather than driving and she said they were extremely crowded.
