• E-Tickets query?.

From tony sayer@3:633/10 to All on Wednesday, June 17, 2026 18:45:22

    Asking for a friend.. Really!..

She will be travelling from Southampton to somewhere like Clapham
junction or waterloo etc and then to the cross and thence on the ECML to Edinburgh.

Now this lady speaks hardly any English being Chinese!

Now can i buy her a electronic ticket that will be on her smartfone that
she can use to travel, but part of the journey will be on the
underground query is are these tickets usable on the underground?.

If i buy it for her online how do i get it onto her phone just on the
booking system state her phone number, or if was delivered to me on my
phone or PC how do you or can transfer it to another phone if possible?

    Thanks for any assistance..

In general Aztec/QR barcodes are not yet accepted by most Underground
barriers. For this reason tickets which include a tube transfer are issued
    only on printed tickets.

You could buy separate tickets for Southampton to London and then London to Edinburgh and tell her to use her credit card for the tube. Electronic
tickets also get emailed to you as a pdf, so you can forward them to her.

Personally, unless the budget was severely constrained I?d get a Loganair flight from Southampton to Edinburgh. Around œ180 one way.

I?m not sure if Chinese credit cards are accepted at Tube barriers.

    Sounds much more sensible!

Looking at Skyscanner there?s three flights per day. EasyJet fly once per
day from Southampton to Glasgow as well.
