  • Jacobite derailed in Mallaig

From Recliner@3:633/10 to All on Monday, June 15, 2026 11:49:42
The loco tender was derailed on the points while running round for
yesterday afternoon?s service in Mallaig, blocking the line for seven hours (1700 departure delayed till 2218). ScotRail said it had been unable to run three services on the line, with its passengers switched to replacement
    buses.

We had a talk some years ago by local driver, in the past they used to
rerail them with a crowbar without any fuss.

Collins dictionary - "an alternative spelling of porridge."

The brand name is a three word phrase containing the word. Being a
generic term, the single word is probably incapable of being a brand
    name by itself.

That would suggest they have missed a rather obvious current example.

Unlikely for much the same reason that Barrs haven't stopped multiple
    others selling "Iron Brew".
Putting "porage" alone into the IPO trade mark search engine produces
    the result -
"No trade marks matching your search criteria were found"

but there are 8 results for TMs using "Scott's" and "porage" in
combination, "Scott's Porage Oats" not itself being the oldest and not
all of them associated with a chap in a kilt chucking a shot.

'Manually rerailed' by 15 engineers - this must have been some
    accomplishment :-)

Probably assisted by porage and Irn-Bru ?

ITYF that Porage is a brand name for one particular make of porridge. >>>>>
Collins dictionary - "an alternative spelling of porridge."
OED - one of various spellings over time -

    Some other dictionaries - "archaic"

The brand name is a three word phrase containing the word. Being a
generic term, the single word is probably incapable of being a brand
    name by itself.

Thank you for resisting the temptation to advertise on this newsgroup
