For the tram nerds; After 53 years of uninterrupted service, the last
Tatra in Bucharest scheduled service will finally be withdrawn next
month... They're sending it on a tour of various lines, along with a
handfull of others being brought out of retirement, so if anyone wants
to combine some tram nerding with a trip to sunny Buh, the routes it'll
run on are:
Saturday 11th July - routes 1, 5, 10 and 21
Sunday 12th July - routes 25 and 41
Saturday 18th July - routes 7, 11, 23, and 47
Sunday 19th July - route 35
Apparently there will be 6 units (T4Rs) running in total - two as
singles, and two coupled pairs.
On Sunday 19th there will apparently also be an Open Day at the Militari Depot, which I hope I'll be able to go along to and snap some photos...
(There's also a Metrorex depot for the Metro (underground) line M3 on
the same site as the tram depot, not clear if that will be part of the
open day as well... I guess not, but you never know...)
