LNER are/have been testing a 9 car Azuma on the MML from Leicester to
Bedford. This is, supposedly, to allow for diversions during closure of
the Southern ECML. The rumour is that they are only going to Bedford,
then passengers can change onto Thameslink to get to KX.
There are not many free slots at St. P. In the past some Hull Trains
services have diverted there, so there are likely to be a few extra
'non-MML' services at St.P. on diversion days, though the lines South of Leicester will be struggling to cope with many extra services, so
possibly only a very limited number of services will be diverted.
