Just gone through passports at St P. Last time it was eGate and then
    passport stamping.
This time it is a manual booth where they took a picture (with a webcam)
and took finger prints. No passport stamping, no use of terminals. The terminals are all out of service in bits of the station before you enter
    the E* area.

Its good to know that its not only british beaurocracy that can make a total stuff up of rolling out IT systems. EES seems to be turning into a bit of a farce.

If anything, it was faster than the eGate I used last trip.
I think the issue with EES is that they?ve left it to each country to
implement their own IT system and their own interpretation of the rules.
StP seems to be working well. Will see how Rotterdam works on the way back home. I hope they won?t be looking for an entry stamp?.

Not just countries. We've got itchy feet and really fancy a week across the channel during the next school holidays at the end of may, but apparently EES rollout has been delayed again at Eurotunnel after a date of April 10th was mooted. I'm paranoid about them switching it on just before the school
holidays and then getting stuck in a 3 mile jam on the M20 and hours stuck
at the terminal as the bugs are ironed out.

I still don?t know if I?m properly enrolled in the system or am just have
some sort of interim status. And there seems no way to check.

If there was some way to check it would probably be full off security holes
    and hacked in a week.

There is a number of days left checker here

    https://travel-europe.europa.eu/ees/check-how-long-you-can-stay

which seems open to abuse since all you need is a passport number, which
    may not be yours?
