Did anyone see the entire match?
I only watched the first set and the beginning of the second. I felt
that Alcaraz would win, but it also seemed like even in the 2nd set
Alcaraz had a tendency to pant a lot after the longer points, meaning
that fatigue might have been an issue.
What was your general impression of the match?

When I woke up, I checked out livescorehunter.com and saw
that Shelton lead by two sets to one. After that I went
to work and kept monitoring the same site. I did not see the
actual play so I am unable to comment. Carlitos' loss was
a surprise even though Shelton has lots of power.
But I did watch Michelsen vs Tiafoe. Michelsen truly blew
it. He lead two sets to love and served for the match at
5-4. He choked like a real loser, making two double faults
and losing six games in a row.
What a terrible way to lose a US Open quarterfinal! Michelsen
is only 22 years old, so he is young but it could mean he
has not got what being a real champion means. A true master
would have held his nerve and finished it in three sets...

Don't know. Alcatraz had 53 UEs to Shelton's 34. 38 winners against Shelton's 34. Almost 20 more UEs is quite a bit.
I would have loved to see this one.
Tiafoe has been doing well too. All summer. His name was on the tip of
my tongue in the tipping competition. Can't tip them all.

Shelton played the match of his life.˙ Carlos has been holding back on
his serve the whole tournament because of his wrist, but the rest of his game has been superb.˙ Carlos looks leaner like he has lost weight and
some muscle, and is not match fit.˙ Not really an excuse as he still
played amazing I thought.˙ I kept scratching my head at how good he is. Props to Shelton for matching it on the day and having supreme
confidence in his ability to win. He should beat Tiafoe unless he has an unexpected letdown.˙ He's here to win the tournament so wouldn't be satisfied to the point he loses next match.˙ I'd say he has a great
chance of beating Zverev in the final.
