Jodar is OUT!!! What a demolition job, Bu absolutely
destroyed the young Spaniard 6-2, 6-1, 6-1.
Not even the rain delay could change the course of
this match. Who would have believed? Some people had
predicted that Jodar would win the whole tournament
but he lost in the fucking first round!

I don't seem to get what others get about Jodar. I suspect he's a
mommy's boy.

I thought maybe there was some injury but he said he was fine
physically. He suggested it wasn't a big deal, but would be if he
learned nothing from it and it happened again. Hmm, I think it's worse
than what he thinks. It's not like he lost to a great player, he was absolutely creamed by a guy ranked > 100. He seems mentally tough so
I'm at a loss for this performance.

The HBO Max commentator said that all the players have two or three days
per year where "the feel is just off". He saw no obvious problems with
Jodar, but told us that this was one of those days where the feel is
not there. It could be so.
Tennis timing and "touch" are delicate things and even slight miscue
could prove fatal as the tempo of the game is very fast nowadays.

Me too. I am actually on the winning side, 180?, but I stopped
betting. Why? Because every time I knew who is going to win, the
betting agencies always knew it too. So I was getting bad odds
and was forced to be at least 100? to make 20? or so.

True, but his opponent was so far beneath his assumed skill level that
Jodar should not have lost in straight sets 2, 1, and 1.
It's more than a normal "off day".

Jodar did play badly yes, lots of unforced errors. But
I believe we have to give lots of credit to Bu as well.
He made far less unforced errors and I think he outplayed
Jodar in terms of winners. In short, bad performance by
Jodar and Bu played the best match of his entire life.
Hence the crushing outcome.
