These questions were written to be asked in Toronto on 2026-01-26,
    and should be interpreted accordingly.

On each question you may give up to two answers, but if you give
both a right answer and a wrong answer, there is a small penalty.
Please post all your answers in a single followup to the newsgroup,
based only on your own knowledge. (In your answer posting, quote
the questions and place your answer below each one.) I will reveal
the correct answers in about 3 days.

All questions were written by members of Unnatural Axxxe, and are
used here by permission, but have been reformatted and may have
been retyped and/or edited by me. The posting and tabulation of
current-events questions is independent of the concurrent posting
of other rounds. For further information please see my 2026-03-10
companion posting on "Questions from the Canadian Inquisition
    (QFTCI*)".

    * Game 3, Round 4 - Sports - Relocated Franchises

Go, local sports team, go! And they did. Here's a round on sports
franchises that relocated to other cities, to the consternation of
    existing fans.

Where applicable, give both the place name and the team name, like
    "Saskatchean Roughriders".

    1. From which city did the NBA'S Utah Jazz relocate in 1979
    explaining their misnomer nickname?

    2. What team became Major League Baseball's Washington Nationals
    in 2005?

    3. The Indianapolis Colts started up in 1984 when owner Robert Irsay
moved the team from its former home in the middle of the night.
    Who were they before?

    4. What NHL team started as the Kansas City Scouts, then were the
Colorado Rockies, and settled in their current home in 1982?

    5. The NBA's Seattle Supersonics relocated and became what team
    in 2008?

    6. What NHL team name was lost when the franchise became the
Phoenix Coyotes in 1996? The name was resurrected when the
Atlanta Thrashers moved there in 2011.

    7. In 1958, two historic MLB franchises moved westward to
California. Give the team name of *either* franchise.

    8. The NFL's Houston Oilers relocated and became which team in 1997?

    9. Since 2019, one city lost has its MLB, NBA, *and* NFL teams
to other cities -- two of them to Las Vegas. Name that city
    of broken sports dreams.

    10. In 1937, the Washington Redskins, as they then were called, won
the NFL Championship in the first year after relocation from
Boston. Only one other team in football, baseball, basketball,
or hockey has won a league championship in their first year
after relocation. They did it in 1996. Name that team.

    * Game 3, Round 5 - Audio - 20th-Century Composers

Not every great name in classical music was a contemporary of Bach
or Beethoven. The century just past had its own contributions
to the pantheon. In this round, in the original game we'd play
a 20th-century work; here you'll be given the title instead.
And you just name the composer.

    1. "Finlandia".
    2. "Sabre Dance".
    3. "The Firebird".
    4. "Claire de Lune".
    5. "Rhapsody in Blue".
    6. "Appalachian Spring".
    7. "Peter and the Wolf".
    8. "Pomp and Circumstance".
    9. "Suite for Jazz Orchestra #2".
    10. 4'33". (Normally 4 minutes and 33 seconds long, but we took
the liberty of editing it down for you.)

    * Game 3, Round 6 - Science - Animal Crowds

Let us now flock together and consider the collective nomenclature
of our animal friends. We'll name the species, you tell us what
we call it when they assemble in crowds.

    1. What is a group of cats called?
    2. What is a group of owls called?
    3. A herd of lions is called a.....
    4. What is a group of crows called?
    5. What Is a group of tigers called?
    6. What is a group of whales called?
    7. What is a group of penguins called?
    8. Besides a herd, what is a group of giraffes called?
    9. Other than flock, what is a group of parrots called?
    10. What military term is used to describe a group of primates like
    baboons, chimps, or monkeys?
