The era of Americans tipping automatically for, well, almost everything,
has finally reached a ?? tipping point.
For most of my life I was a good tipper. I resented having to figure out an employee's pay or their worth and if they looked tired, maybe they're a single parent and so on and so forth.
I always felt like doing that shit was the job of a manager or proprietor, not the job of someone trying to enjoy their meal, socialize, and unwind.
I think that unless you're gonna do a song and dance, joke, or magic trick, the only time I should be noticing my waiter is when they're telling us the specials.
But now it's just insane, their wages have fell way back, everything is demanding a tip, my auto guy? Tipping my auto guy?
The only time I've done that in my freaking life was when I gave the guy bad information and he quoted me way too low but stuck to the price when I went to pick up. I felt bad and made sure he got at least an extra few hours pay out of the job.
At this point I just do whatever the minimum is. I except this for my dominoes delivery guy since we recognize each other by face and I know my wife can be a lousy tipper so I make it up a bit to keep us off the snot-and-boogers list.
