A popular Canadian murder mystery TV series has set its return date.
The classic show features Jason Mewes, along with other big names
like Dancing with the Stars alum Emma Slater and Yanic Truesdale of
Gilmore Girls.

Murdoch Mysteries has set a premiere date for its 20th season, set
to debut Monday, October 5, on Ovation TV. The show follows William
Murdoch, who pioneers new and innovative ways to solve crime at the
turn of the 20th Century in Toronto. The series is based on a
popular set of books written by Maureen Jennings.

What makes Murdoch Mysteries Season 20 different from previous years
Murdoch Mysteries Season 20 will expand out of Toronto, as revealed
by TV Insider. Murdoch will be headed to Malta for the latest outing
of the franchise to take up the case of mystery author Nigella
Fletcher, facing execution for the murder of her husband. The series
will continue with its signature wit and innovation, as Murdoch and
the rest of the cast deal with intriguing mysteries and personal
issues alike.

Alongside Yannick Bisson, a slew of other cast members will return.
These include Thomas Craig as Chief Inspector Thomas Brackenreid,
Lachlan Murdoch as Constable Henry Higgins, Kataem O'Connor, Daniel
Maslany, Shanice Banton, and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, among others.

As reported by TV Insider, Sol Doten, Executive Vice President,
Marketing & Strategy at Ovation TV, expressed how proud he was of
the show. He said, "We are thrilled to bring U.S. viewers this
landmark 20th season, filled with inventive mysteries and hidden
drama all around."

Murdoch Mysteries first premiered in Canada in 2008. It has remained
a staple series of Canadian television since then.
