I hate how they keep peddling the idea that Green Lanterns have to be fearless. Being a Green Lantern isn't about being fearless, it's about
having the willpower to overcome great fear; there's a difference.
"And the only reason why he has that ring is because he's been
privileged enough in this life that he didn't have to know fear."
Hal Jordan watched his dad die in a plane crash, and became test pilot
before he was a Green Lantern, he knows what fear is, he had the power
to overcome it.
And this peddling of fearlessness undermines the other Green Lanterns as
well. Jessica Cruz for example had crippling anxiety and trauma, but she
still became a Green Lantern because she had the strength to overcome
great fear, not have the absence of it.
This show misses the mark of what it means to be a Green Lantern.
